I think, it’s fair to say that we worry about a lot in life. Don’t we? We worry about…money, our health, our kids and their choices. We worry about paying the bills. We worry about the weather. We worry about our jobs. We worry about germs. We worry about war. We worry about our blood pressure. We worry about Roy Halladay (that’s for my Phillies friends!). We worry about being alone. We worry about worry…
Here’s the thing about worry. It consumes. When we get consumed with worry, we get stuck. What are you worried about today? What’s that big thing that’s right there and won’t pack up and leave? Think about this for just a moment.Worry steals. That’s what it does. It steals sleep. It steals our happiness. It steals our impact. It steals me from being the person that God wants me to be.
It’s also a place we can’t leave on our own. We need something. We need a shepherd. A guide. A leader.
“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” Psalm 23:4
